HERO^TM’s high pH operating environment overcomes the limitations of conventional RO systems. In a HERO^TM system, RO membranes are operated in high pH environment and hence, in a “continuous cleaning mode”, eliminating the potential foulants, and resulting in a substantially improved overall performance. Historically, successful operating installations as well as pilot testing have confirmed that a high pH environment is a “cleaning environment.” Most constituents that normally foul the membrane are rejected due to the high pH.
